1999 Pet Photo Contest

To support the Pamela Bratsos scholarship fund and benefit local animal shelters.

Suggested Donation: $5.00

  • The winners receive a pet goodie basket.
  • All entrants will receive a lovely ribbon.

    Entry must be postmarked by August 29th, 1999 - Pamela's birthday!

    The contest was judged by newspaper editor and esteemed local artist Meredith Fife Day. All entries were kept totally anonymous for judging.

    Although all of the entries were incredibly cute, these winning photos were selected on the basis of creativity, expressiveness & technical skill.

    Sincere thanks to all those who participated and donated.
    This year your donations will be helping the Hilltop Humane shelter. The folks at the Hilltop work non-stop to save abondoned and feral cats and kittens. Although your pet is receiving the ribbon, through your support the Hilltop cats are the winners.

    Summary of accomplishments:

    1999:

  • On-going trap/spay/neuter release program: treated 44 feral animals
  • # Adoptions: 41
  • Responded to almost 300 calls on shelter hotline and requests for animal rescue & spay/neuter referrals
  • Held Pet photo contest that attracted over 100 contestants & raised over $500; donated proceeds to the Hilltop Humane Society, a local cat shelter
  • Awarded second annual Pamela Bratsos Armstrong Memorial Scholarship to a Randolph High School student.
  • Sheltara Members volunteered and appointed to the Randolph Animal Shelter Committee Action League (RASCAL)
