Summary of accomplishments:
2001:
On-going trap/spay/neuter release program: treated over 47 feral animals
# Adoptions: 74
Maintained the Hotline for animal rescue and spay/neuter referrals; responded to 343 calls on shelter hotline
Held a "Muchas Gracias" t-shirt fundraiser
Awarded a fourth annual scholarship to a Randolph High School graduate attending Howard University for Veterinary medicine
Developed the Sheltara Humane web site, hosting an electronic resource link offering free and low cost Humane Educational information and materials for teachers and students
Sheltara Members researched, developed and submitted a 60-page report to the Randolph School Board and the Selectmen, focusing on the feasibility of developing an Animal Pound for the town of Randolph, and included research and data on the correlation between animal cruelty and crime
Sheltara Members volunteered and appointed to the Randolph Animal Shelter Committee Action League (RASCAL)
